CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Vice Chair Liz Monterrey Duvall says she will not be defined by her vote to fire Superintendent Crystal Hill.
Duvall was one of five board members who voted to terminate Hill.
In a statement posted to Facebook, Duvall said her focus has not changed. She said she was vocal this summer about achievement gaps in CMS and that addressing those gaps remains at the top of her list.
Duvall said she does not feel the need to convince everyone of her decisions today, adding that she hopes time will be “the greatest truth teller.”
