JOB ALERT: Here are some companies hiring for seasonal positions

The holidays are just around the corner, and many retailers and shipping companies are beginning to hire additional workers to meet the demands of curbside pickup orders and online deliveries this year.

Here are several companies that are hiring for seasonal positions:

Lowe’s

Lowe’s will hire 20,000 associates across its U.S. stores and regional distribution centers to support customer demand this holiday season and beyond. In addition to seasonal help for the holidays, Lowe’s is actively filling permanent full-time and part-time roles at stores and adding 2,500 team members at regional distribution centers nationwide. Available supply chain openings include day, night, weekend and overnight shifts for team members, and store positions include cashiers, customer service associates, receivers, unloaders, load pullers and sales specialists.

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s is gearing up for the holiday season. In the Charlotte area the stores are in search of 67 candidates for positions in several retail departments. Interested candidates can apply online at basspro.com/careers. All applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Best Buy

Best Buy will be hiring to fill positions ranging from sales, customer service, merchandising inventory, car install technicians and more, as well as positions in distribution centers.

Pike Nurseries

All Charlotte-area Pike Nurseries locations are hiring for seasonal employment, including cashiers, sales associates and loading personnel. Applicants of all experience levels are encouraged to apply – from first jobs to seasoned professionals in retail, hospitality or customer service to hobby gardeners. Walmart

Walmart will hire more than 20,000 seasonal associates in its e-commerce fulfillment centers across the country. Interested applicants can visit walmartcareers.com/fcjobs or text “FC” to 240240 to apply for a variety of positions, including order fillers and power equipment operators, that begin at a starting hourly rate ranging from $15.75 up to $23.75 based on location, position and schedule.

Seasonal employment will begin immediately upon hiring, with shifts scheduled as quickly as 48 hours from applying, and will continue through Jan. 1, 2021. In many instances, these positions will have the opportunity to convert to regular employment.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is hiring to help fill more than 120 vacancies at its restaurants and retail shops, including Einstein Bros. Bagels, Smashburger, Bojangles, Queen City News and Salsarita’s. Full-time, part-time, seasonal and temporary jobs are available.

Specialty grocer The Fresh Market is looking to add approximately 1,500 team members for the holiday season across the company. Candidates are encouraged to apply online at The Fresh Market’s website.
