CONOVER, N.C. — A school for kids who need special care will stay open for the next school year.

Channel 9 reported in April that changes to state funding left Conover School with a possible $500,000 budget shortfall.

The school board was considering moving students to other schools.

The superintendent tells the Hickory Daily Record a grant from the Department of Public Instruction will keep Conover School open for now.
