CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A controlled burn is getting a lot of attention in Catawba County near the Highway 321 and Highway 70 interchange.
Flames are shooting up behind the Roses along Highway 70.
Piedmont Natural Gas is doing routine infrastructure maintenance, firefighters said.
The operation includes the use of a flare stack and a large flame that can be seen by drivers in the area.
Signage has been placed along Highway 321 and 70 to let drivers know about the burn operations.
