CMPD arrests man after deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte parking lot

CHARLOTTE — Police arrested a 27-year-old man who they said shot and killed a man late Wednesday in southwest Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were called to an assault with deadly weapon call just before 10:45 p.m. at Nations Ford Road and Arrowood Road. When they got there, police found a man who had been shot in the parking lot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. CMPD identified him as 25-year-old Michael King.

Karrington Maurice Paige was arrested Monday and charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of firearm by felon, and four counts of shooting into an occupied property.

Crime scene investigators processed the area for clues but no arrests have been made and no other details have been released.
