Watch out for emails that look like they're from Amazon, but aren't

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A delivery-service provider contracted by Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is laying off 51 workers in Charlotte this spring due to the “business relationship” ending between the two companies.

Express Parcel Service, based in Doral, Florida, notified North Carolina Department of Commerce officials on Wednesday of its plans to lay off employees working at the Amazon delivery station at 3830 Parrott Drive in west Charlotte.

The layoffs will be effective April 12, according to the company’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letter, in which Express Parcel Service states that the move is a result of the company ending its business partnership with Amazon.
