Devastated mother calls for justice in unrelated fatal shootings of siblings

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is seeking information regarding two unsolved fatal shootings involving siblings from the same family.

Juordan Hill was killed on Pruitt Street in September 2018, and his sister, Brittany Hill, was shot and killed on Air Park West during a recent weekend.

Both cases remain unsolved as investigators seek leads in the deaths. Lajuana Hill, the mother of Juordan and stepmother of Brittany, expressed profound grief and anger over the loss of both children in separate incidents years apart.

Hill worked as a home senior care aide and was a mother of two. Hill described her stepdaughter’s character and commitment to her family.

“Brittany was a special young lady. Did everything right, great mother, great daughter,” Hill said.

The shooting on Air Park West occurred while Hill was escorting neighborhood youths to a teen meetup. Hill said her stepdaughter had provided transportation for several young women prior to the gunfire.

“From my understanding, she was there with some young ladies and had given them a ride. When things started to take place, she stood up to make sure she had everybody on her team with her,” Hill said.

Facing a second fatal tragedy following the death of Hill, Hill expressed devastation and urged anyone with information to assist law enforcement.

“I’m just devastated again for my family, devastated,” Hill said, adding, “I think I’m in a little bit of devastation, a little bit of shock, but the anger is so severe.”

She asked the public to come forward. “I plead with you, I beg of you to show some mercy on my family and if you know anything, help us,” Hill expressed.

Kita Williams, the aunt of Juordan and Hill, called for community assistance alongside the police investigation.

“Our job is to work collectively with CMPD so that we can put our heads together because it’s clear they need help, they need aid in justice for Juordan, and they gonna need aid in Justice for Brittany,” Williams said.
