Do plant closings have an impact on price, availability of groceries?

Smithfield Foods closed three of their meat processing facilities across the country and Tyson recently announced more cleaning efforts because of COVID-19 outbreaks.

When Smithfield Foods closed its first plant in South Dakota, its CEO was blunt, saying it could put America perilously close to a disruption in our meat supply.

We’ve already seen the panic buying when the COVID-19 pandemic started -- toilet paper and cleaning supplies cleared from the shelves. We wanted to know if that bacon you buy for breakfast could be more expensive and harder to find.
