Dole to keep Americas HQ in Charlotte after merger, IPO

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fresh foods giant that brought its corporate offices to the Queen City about two years ago is set to grow even larger as it merges with a European produce company.

Dole Food Co. Inc. is set to merge with Ireland’s Total Produce plc to form the No. 1 produce company in the world, with combined 2020 revenue estimated at $9.7 billion, according to a press release. The company to be created, Dole plc, will keep its global headquarters in Dublin and its headquarters for the Americas in Charlotte.

Completion of an initial public offering for Dole plc and listing on “a major U.S. stock exchange” is a condition of closing the transaction.
