DOT pauses I-40 interchange work, congestion concerns remain

Plans to work on Interstate 40 exit ramps are on hold, our partners at the Morganton Herald reported.

Spending plans from the Department of Transportation don’t include any I-40 interchange work.

Since 2018, the department has been trying to reduce congestion near Burkemont Avenue.

There is no word on when it could be added to the schedule.
