YORK COUNTY, S.C. — At least 50 dogs were rescued from a hoarding neglect situation in York County Tuesday evening.

York County Animal Services said it has suspended all shelter services through the end of the week to allow them to process and examine those dogs.

Officials have not said if anyone will face charges.

The York County Animal Shelter is currently taking donations to help accommodate the influx of dogs. They are asking for supplies, including dog and puppy food, treats, paper towels and cloths, laundry detergent and stainless steel water buckets. They are also accepting monetary donations to help provide medical care and cover transport costs.

With the influx of animals, the shelter is now well over capacity. Check out the dogs available for adoption here.
