WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — A 67-year-old woman was killed in a Watauga County crash Monday morning.
Troopers say Carol Geiger died after a Ford F250 crossed the centerline on Highway 421 and struck her vehicle head on.
The driver of the truck was identified as 64-year-old Henry Bontrager. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators do not believe speed or impairment played a role in the crash.
Bontrager has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, careless and reckless driving, left of center and no operator’s license.
