Driver survives after being shot in head, crashing into Shelby home

SHELBY, N.C. — Zandre Cherry, 20, was shot in the head while driving and crashed his car into a Shelby home on March 24.

Latresia Peak was in her home when the collision happened, and saw Cherry was in grave condition.

Cherry survived the shot to his temple and was airlifted to Atrium Health CMC.

“I think it’s a miracle,” Peak said.
