CHARLOTTE — A major power outage caused by a large fallen tree impacted over 4,000 customers in north Charlotte Tuesday morning.
The outage, which is also affecting traffic lights in the area, was first reported around 5:30 a.m.
At this time, Duke Energy crews anticipate power to be restored by 9 a.m.

Gibbon Road is shut down at Old Statesville Road as a result.
