Families without reliable internet continue to struggle with remote learning

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Courtney Rhyne has had problems getting adequate internet when schools went to remote learning.

“It’s almost like my children are being punished because we don’t live in a city,” Rhyne said in April after schools shutdown in-person learning because of COVID-19.

Her frustrations continue as school is about to begin which includes remote learning.

Access to reliable internet at her home is out of reach for her family.
