Family continues search for Shelby man reported missing 6 years ago

SHELBY, N.C. — Six years ago, Sandy Canipe vanished.

In January of 2016, the then 48-year-old walked down a patch in Shelby he often traveled, and no one has seen him since.

“Your mind is constantly wondering on where he could be what happened and where he is now and the unknown is the hardest part,” Chris Canipe, Sandy’s son, said.

His family said they believe a recent inheritance may be the reason he did not come back, and they are still worried.
