FORECAST: Heat, humidity ramp up for the weekend

SATURDAY: The sunshine will continue through the upcoming weekend as temperatures and humidity slowly increase.

Highs on Saturday will reach the upper 80s with a mostly sunny sky. The humidity levels will increase a bit, but it will not completely unbearable for any outdoor plans.

A light wind can also be expected through the day.

The temperatures will drop to the 60s at night, with the low at 64 degrees.

It will be mostly clear skies so it will be a great night to see the Space Station flyover around 9:50 p.m.

SUNDAY: Humidity will spike Sunday, with afternoon highs shy of 90 across the Charlotte metro area.

Mostly sunny conditions will continue through the end of the weekend.

The stretch of above-average temperatures will stick around through the start of the work week, as lower 90s will be possible Monday through Thursday.

Conditions will stay sunny Monday and Tuesday, with increasing clouds by Wednesday.

NEXT WEEK: A mountain shower can be expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with widespread rain expected Thursday and Friday.

This will also help to cool temperatures down a bit, with upper 80s expected heading into next weekend.
