CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Garth Brooks fans will have to wait a little longer to hear the thunder roll.
If you’re keeping track, the country music star was originally scheduled to perform at Bank of America Stadium on May 2; however, that date was rescheduled to June 13.
On Thursday, concert promoter Varnell Enterprises announced a new date for the show, which is now scheduled to take place Oct. 10.
This will be the only North Carolina and South Carolina stop on Brooks’ “The Stadium Tour.”
All tickets purchased will be honored.
A spokesperson for Tepper Sports and Entertainment, the company that operates the stadium, said in a news release: “Tepper Sports and Entertainment holds the health and safety of our patrons, entertainers and staff at live events as our top priority. The concert is scheduled and we are hopeful that it will take place. As is the case with any stadium event, we will be prepared to adjust and follow the guidelines communicated by the government, medical professionals and public health officials.”
In December, when tickets went on sale for the original date, stadium officials said 74,000 tickets were sold in 90 minutes.
Other shows scheduled for Bank of America Stadium impacted by the coronavirus pandemic include Billy Joel, who rescheduled his April concert to 2021, and the Rolling Stones, who postponed their summer tour.
