Gov. Stein vetoes changes to North Carolina’s elections

Voting (WSOC)

NORTH CAROLINA — North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein vetoed changes to the state’s elections.

House Bill 958 shortens the length of early voting for some elections.

It would also give the Republican state auditor more powers to audit elections.

Purges of voting rolls would also ramp up.

Republicans do have enough seats to override the governor’s veto.
