HICKORY, N.C. — The Hickory Police Department is launching a new cadet program for college students.
The program creates a path for App State Hickory and Catawba Valley Community College students to get into law enforcement.
Starting this fall, cadets will work with the police department’s Community Response Team to prepare them for the training academy. This puts them on a path toward becoming a Hickory police officer.
