CHARLOTTE — The former Wells Fargo tower on South Tryon Street is getting ready for redevelopment after being designated a historic landmark.
The Charlotte Observer reports the building owners filed a land development construction plan permit with the city last week.
Plans for the 55-year-old Uptown property include hundreds of new apartments and a hotel. Plans also note that developers are working on streetscape improvements to accompany the changes.
The property’s owners, Riverside Investment & Development and Singerman Real Estate LLC, purchased the building in April for $36.5 million.
