HICKORY, N.C. — Police are searching for two persons of interest after a man was found shot Monday night in the parking lot of an IHOP restaurant in Hickory.
Officers were called just before midnight to the restaurant on Highway 70 SE, where they said they found Rafael Cerda-Ramirez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Cerda-Ramirez was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center, where he died.
Police are searching for two white men who they believe were driving a small burgundy car.
It's not clear what led up to the shooting.

Anyone who was at the IHOP between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and midnight, or who may have information about the crime, is urged to contact Hickory Police Investigator K. Craig at 828-261-2616.
