CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Hornets announced that Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams will miss all upcoming preseason games after sustaining hamstring injuries during offseason activity.
Knueppel sustained a left hamstring injury, while Williams suffered a right hamstring injury during on-court workouts.
Both players will undergo medical re-evaluation during the first week of the NBA regular season.
Knueppel was selected by Charlotte with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. He appeared in 81 games with 80 starts during his rookie campaign, averaging 18.5 points.
Williams, a Charlotte native, was originally drafted 22nd overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Hornets acquired him from the Mavericks in 2024.
The Charlotte Hornets indicated that additional updates on both players’ conditions will be provided following their scheduled re-evaluations during the opening week of the regular season.
Hornets’ training camp is scheduled to begin on Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 2.
