GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gaston County hospital was placed on lockdown after a subject pointed a gun at a hospital security officer.
Officers received calls around 9:30 Monday morning after a security guard was driving near CaroMont Regional Medical Center when he saw someone point what appeared to be a gun at him.
The security officer called police because it was near the hospital.
Police say they have not found the person and are not sure if it was a gun.
The hospital increased security as a pre-caution.
Gastonia Police and and CaroMount Security are on scene.
Gastonia Police are assisting to locate the suspect.
