We first broke the news at 6 p.m. and provided live updates throughout the night as the National Guard, firefighters and Highway Patrol worked to clear a tractor-trailer crash.
I-85 NB in Kannapolis was shut down following a traffic incident that left more than 100 vehicles stranded on the highway.

Trucker Chic Suggs, who was stuck on the interstate, shared their experience, saying, “I’m down here on Lane Street, right here at the hospital. That’s a tractor-trailer. That’s a tractor-trailer all the way up past the QT. As far as I can see, dead, stand still.”
