CHARLOTTE — The iconic Penguin Drive-In sign is coming down.
FS Food Group will retire the sign at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. It’s been at Thomas and Commonwealth avenues since 1954.
The sign will be donated to the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association.
