CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This 23,000-square-foot entertainment hub opens in South End on Thursday.

Pins Mechanical Co. and 16-Bit Bar+Arcade delivers cocktails, duckpin bowling, pinball and classic arcade games in one spot.

“We’re an alternative to your standard night out,” says Mike Clark, marketing manager for Rise Brands.

Columbus, Ohio-based Rise Brands is behind the concept. The Charlotte location ­— the brand’s ninth site — is the first in North Carolina. It is located at 307 W. Tremont Ave.

“We really look for that booming, developing city and we’ve seen the growth,” Clark says. “We just wanted to be part of it.”
