Local developer plans mixed-use project in Cornelius

CORNELIUS, N.C. — A local developer has been moving through the approvals process for its new mixed-use project in Cornelius for months. On Tuesday, the rezoning request for the project will go before the town’s planning board.

Palillo Holdings, which is run by Jake Palillo, is proposing a project with 252 apartments and 10,000 square feet of commercial space, according to town documents. Should it move forward, the development would be built on a 12.2-acre site just off West Catawba Avenue and H.M. Junker Drive.
