Authorities say they need the public's help finding two young boys who may be in the Carolinas.

In a Facebook post Friday, the Presque Isle, Maine Police Department said 12-year-old Joel Strother II and 10-year-old Carter Strother III may have been taken out of the state against their will.
Officers believe the boys may be somewhere in the Carolinas with one of the following people: Joel Strother, Kimberly McLeod also known as Kimberly Strother, Christopher McLeod or Matthew McLeod.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
