Major mixed-use development in region moving forward

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A major mixed-use development in the region is moving forward after local officials gave a thumbs-up for an incentives agreement.

The Independent Tribune newspaper reports the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve an economic development incentives agreement with the city of Concord to support proposed retail and residential development in the downtown area.

As CBJ has previously reported, Florida-based Lansing Melbourne Group is behind the $50 million project, which calls for 294 apartments and 15,300 square feet of commercial space between three different buildings.
