CHARLOTTE — A man is facing attempted murder and assault charges following a 12-hour standoff in north Charlotte.
Court documents say officers were attempting to arrest Gerico Alexander when they heard four or five gunshots coming from inside his apartment. Officers then heard two shots pass over their heads.
One officer said he saw Alexander’s window shatter after the shots were fired.
Alexander is charged with attempted first-degree murder and five counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer. Judge Keith Smith denied bond.
