Police identify man found shot to death on west Charlotte sidewalk

CHARLOTTE — Police are looking for whoever shot and killed a man in west Charlotte early Saturday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were called at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of an unresponsive man on the sidewalk on Forestbrook Drive near Tuckaseegee Road.

When they arrived, officers discovered Jamontres Alexander, 33, had been shot and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police have not released any information on what led up to the shooting or if they have a suspect.
