CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden is speaking out after a deadly weekend of violence across Charlotte left five people dead, including two teenagers.
The deaths were reported across four separate shootings. So far, police have made only one arrest in connection with the four incidents.
McFadden says the community cannot accept violence as normal, urging people to get involved before it affects their own families or neighborhoods.
“We cannot accept this as normal,” McFadden said in part. “We cannot wait until violence reaches our own family or community before we get involved.”
