Middle schoolers invited to audition for STEM TV show

North Carolina STEM Explorers

CHARLOTTE — Calling all middle schoolers in the Charlotte area: Want to host a TV show?

The science show North Carolina STEM Explorers is auditioning kids in sixth through eighth grades to host an episode that will air on Channel 9!

The auditions are from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, July 22, at the WSOC-TV Studios. That’s at 235 W. 23rd Street in Charlotte.

Students will read a script for the audition. Here’s a sneak peek for a bit of practice:

“Welcome to STEM Explorers! Hi, I’m [student’s name], and on today’s show, we’ll explore physics using a fire extinguisher and roller skates. How cool is that? Then, we’ll talk to a real astronaut on the space station and I get to ask plenty of questions! All this and more on STEM Explorers.”
