Mobile farmers market to serve food 'deserts' in Rowan Co.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A mobile farmers market called Mobile Farm Fresh is starting to serve food 'deserts' of Rowan County beginning on July 1.

The non-profit organization's goal is to focus on communities with hunger and a lack of access to healthy fruits and vegetables. 

The market is located in a tent but as funds are raised it will move into a one-aisle grocery mobile farmers market on wheels. 

The market will debut at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, the Community Care Clinic, the Lafayette Circle Community and the Pine Hill Neighborhood.
