MONROE, N.C. — A Monroe councilman has resigned more than a month after his colleagues opened an ethics investigation.

Councilman Gary Anderson told the council in June that they would not find any evidence against him.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the investigation stemmed from an incident in May when a teen allegedly told police Anderson caused him concern at a Charlotte barbershop.

CMPD told us it found insufficient evidence to pursue charges.
