NASCAR driver revs up studio business with celebrity, corporate clients

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Last week, rapper DaBaby paid a visit. In March, it was retired basketball Hall of Famer Allen Iverson. Rapper-songwriter Ashnikko stopped by last summer. Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is a frequent guest, as are a number of NASCAR drivers.

Located on Hambright Road in Huntersville, between Mount Holly-Huntersville Road and the I-77 toll lanes, the destination in question is Clutch Studios. Owned by NASCAR driver Joey Logano and his agent, Warren Vigus, Clutch is enjoying steady growth through favorable word of mouth and social media.

Major brands and spokespeople have embraced the ease and convenience of shooting in a low-key environment, without the costs and headaches of Los Angeles or New York.

Vigus, managing partner of Clutch Studios, this week took CBJ on a tour of the 20,000-square-foot building while discussing Logano’s growing appetite for entrepreneurial ventures, including a cookie company and real estate holdings.
