NC health officials offer free COVID-19 testing program to all school districts

CHARLOTTE — North Carolina health officials are now offering a free COVID-19 testing program that would help quickly detect the virus in school staff and students.

This service is available to every school district in the state. Health officials said the program is about reducing the amount of instructional time that is lost due to COVID-19 infections, outbreaks and quarantines.

While some districts are embracing the resource, others are not interested.

In the video at the top of this webpage, reporter Tina Terry looks into which county school districts will be testing in schools this year and which will not.
