New live, work, play development to break ground at old Rock Hill Herald site

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A Charlotte-based developer will break ground Thursday morning on a new mixed-use development at the site of the old Rock Hill Herald.

The new live, work and play area on West Main Street will include residential, restaurant and retail components. It will also have an amphitheater, open space and a playground.

The site’s parking deck will serve as an anchor to the proposed pedestrian bridge crossing Dave Lyle Boulevard.

The $60 million development is all part of the Knowledge Park Action Plan to revitalize the area from Winthrop University to downtown Rock Hill.

White Point plans to demolish the former Herald buildings by the end of the year.
