CHARLOTTE — Football legend Mike Ditka is expanding his restaurant group’s footprint to Charlotte. A permit for Catalina Kitchen + Bar is pending for 1942 E. Seventh St. That’s home to the Elizabeth on Seventh mixed-use project.

News first leaked out on Instagram via @JasonThomasCLT.

Charlotte Business Journal sources say Ditka’s Restaurants has taken the 5,300-square-foot corner space there, at East Seventh Street and North Caswell Avenue.

An application for Charlotte Elizabeth LLC was filed on Dec. 1. Mike Ditka’s Chicago LLC is listed as the manager for that entity.
