RALEIGH — North Carolina teachers can access new resources ahead of upcoming changes to math standards.
The state’s Department of Public Instruction launched an online hub featuring the new standards, crosswalk documents and training materials.
Those new standards will take effect next school year.
The North Carolina Board of Education had approved those new standards, so high schoolers won’t have to take Math 3 and Math 4.
Instead, Math 3 and Math 4 will be replaced with math electives.
Students can choose based on their plans for post-high school.
The new standards go into effect in 2028.
