North Carolina picked to host 2029 World University Games

CHARLOTTE — North Carolina is set to host the 2029 World University Games.

Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and Greensboro, will be home to the games.

The tournament is the world’s largest event for student-athletes between the ages of 18-25. The games attract at least 7,000 athletes from over 150 countries and more than 600 universities.

The two-week-long summer games feature 15 different sports including swimming, track, and basketball.
