CHARLOTTE — A north Charlotte mini mart will either pay a fine or lose its liquor license for a week after the ABC Commission says its employee failed to cooperate with police.
The ABC report says last April, at least 29 shots were fired outside the BP Foodmart on West Sugar Creek Road.
The worker at the time told police and his manager that he didn’t see or hear anything.
But officers say video surveillance shows one of the suspects walking into the store holding a rifle in front of the clerk.
They also say shell casings were found within 30 feet of the building, making it impossible for the clerk not to hear anything.
The store’s penalty is $700 after officers determined the clerk lied to police.
