Person dies after skiing incident at Beech Mountain Resort, officials say

BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. — A person has died after a skiing incident on Wednesday at Beech Mountain Resort, officials said.

The resort has not said what led to the incident, and the person’s identity has not been released at this point.

“We regret to announce a skiing incident that occurred yesterday, resulting in the death of one of our patrons. Beech Mountain Resort extends our deepest sympathy and support to the guests family and friends,” resort officials said in a statement.

No other details have been released.
