Impairment, speed played factors in deadly crash near Music Factory, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — A 30-year-old man is dead after a crash early Monday morning near the NC Music Factory in uptown Charlotte.

The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on Music Factory Boulevard near Brookshire Boulevard.

A gray 2016 Ford F150 was overturned and off the roadway to the right in the eastbound lanes when officers arrived.

The driver of the F150, Mario Fernando Juarez, died at the scene, CMPD stated.

No one else was in the truck.

Juarez was driving east when he went off the road going into a curve, hitting two poles and a guard rail, CMPD said.

The truck flipped onto its roof after it hit the guard rail and Juarez was thrown from the vehicle.

Impairment and speed are contributing factors to the crash, CMPD said.

Juarez was also not wearing a seat belt.

No other motor vehicles were involved.

The investigation into this collision is active and ongoing.
