PHOTOS: Luxury boutique hotel is latest sign of new life for historic building in Gastonia

GASTONIA, N.C. — The Esquire Hotel is welcoming its first guests in Gastonia.

That boutique hotel is located in the historic Lawyers Building at 168 Main St. The 20,000-foot-building — first a bank, then a home for lawyers — was completed in 1917.

The building sat vacant for 30 years. Now, a 35-room hotel is the latest piece unveiled of an adaptive-reuse project that breathes new life into the building.
