There have been 51 people killed so far this year in the city.

Police were investigating 40 homicides in Charlotte at this time last year.

Police said they believe they do know who fired the shots at the home on The Plaza.

Police arrested Goode in March after he led them on a high-speed chase through three counties.

Officials said he was wanted for breaking and entering.

Sierra Adams said Alston, who was her friend, was defending himself.

She said the shootout happened after the other man who was shot confronted a group of her friends about breaking into his car.

“He stated that he was going to do something to everybody who stayed at that house and that's what happened,” Adams said.
