Police ask for public’s help to identify bicyclist seriously hurt in crash involving truck

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A man seriously hurt in a bicycle crash Friday morning has been identified as Michael Lee Raymond, 61, of California.

Officers responded around 6 a.m. to U.S. 29 between East Liberty Street and East Church Street. At the scene, they found a crash involving a pickup truck and a bicycle.

Authorities said a truck was traveling south and struck the bicyclist from behind.

According to police, the bicyclist didn’t have any identifying information on him, and said that due to his injuries, they have not been able to speak with him.

Police later asked for the public’s health to identify Raymond.
