Police investigating deadly shooting at southwest Charlotte shopping center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a southwest Charlotte shopping center Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. on South Tryon Street, just north of Arrowood Drive.

When officers got to the shopping center, they found Solomon Fleming Jr., 22, who had been shot. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting and no arrests have been made at this point.

Officials said detectives are working to gather evidence as well as trying to speak with any witnesses in the area.

This marks the 71st homicide of the year for the city of Charlotte.

No other information has been released.
