WANTED: Police looking for man accused in deadly Charlotte strip mall shooting

Police investigating deadly shooting at southwest Charlotte strip mall

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for a man wanted in a deadly shooting at a southwest Charlotte strip mall last month.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 1 at a strip mall on South Tryon Street, just north of Arrowood Road.

When officers got to the shopping center, they found Solomon Fleming Jr., 22, who had been shot. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said 20-year-old Jamie Marcel Graham Jr. has been charged with Fleming’s murder but is on the run. They are asking for the public’s help to find him and have reason to believe he’s in the Charlotte area.

Graham currently has outstanding warrants for murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.

Fleming’s death marked the 71st homicide of the year for the city of Charlotte.
