CHARLOTTE — A woman is dead after a shooting near a Bank of America in northwest Charlotte Friday morning.
Police think they know who pulled the trigger.
Channel 9 saw officers yelling for a man to come out of his house five miles from the crime scene.
Detectives worked all day to find the person behind the shooting, which led them to another scene Friday afternoon.
Maj. Anderson tells me when CMPD got to the scene, they found a woman shot. She died. Crime scene investigators are out here now taking photographs as detectives work to try to find leads to a suspect.

They are calling this an isolated incident.
The incident happened just after 10:30 Friday morning.
CMPD officers swarmed the back parking lot of the Bank of America branch off Callabridge Court after receiving multiple 911 calls of a shooting.
They arrived, finding a woman shot dead near the sidewalk, yards from the ATM.
“I never seen nothing like this happen up here,” said John Davis, who stumbled upon the scene on his way to work.
“It’s kind of shocking because I actually bank at that bank,” Davis said.
The witness, who was in the nearby McDonald’s drive-thru at the time of the shooting, told Channel 9 she heard two shots and saw the police involved.
Another witness told us just after the shots rang out, she saw a suspicious person get in a yellow Dodge Charger and drive off.
That detail, which is critical to detectives who quickly acted on it, helped officers track a car that is believed to fit that description to a house off Quail Street near the Charlotte airport.
SWAT officers were there for hours, calling on a loud speaker for a man to come out. Channel 9 has learned that scene could be connected to the homicide less than five miles away.
“I’m trying to figure out why did this happen because nothing, I mean nothing, ever happens like this up here,” said Davis.
Police stress they don’t know the answer to that yet, but they’re trying to get to the bottom of it.
“We’re looking for all the evidence we can, any video evidence,” CMPD said.
We did see Bank of America president Keith Cockrell at the scene earlier, helping anyway the bank can with the investigation.
Our crew at the SWAT standoff says a man did come out of the house and was arrested.
We’re working to learn more about that arrest.
